We deliver more than the norm. At Magnussen Home, we go "BEYOND THE EXPECTED."
From our beginning as a small furniture company in Ontario, Canada, we have evolved into a full line furniture resource with offices in Ontario, Canada; High Point, NC; Riverside, CA; and, the Far East. Our business is creating furniture designs of exceptional style, value and beauty. We produce these designs in partnership with our manufacturing partners around the world that meet our exacting standards for superior quality at the best possible value. We then market and distribute our products to our retail partners in Canada, the U.S. and abroad. The foundation of our success is built on our company's core values of trust, honesty, and respect. We live these values in our dealings with our customers, our dealers and our suppliers, as well as with one another. Each of my teammates at Magnussen Home participates in our success and is eager to ensure that our furniture products enrich the homes of our customers with their exceptional style and workmanship.
An unrivaled value in home furnishings -- this is the commitment that we renew everyday to our dealers and to the consumers who invite Magnussen Home into their lives. We have a passion for details. It stems from how we run our company, grows into the conveniences we design into our furniture, and blooms into the relationships we build with our valued dealers.
We design every piece of furniture that carries the Magnussen Home name. We understand that finishing touches like intricately carved woodwork or ironwork do more than complete the look of a piece of furniture; they set the tone of your home. Our furniture does more than fill a home. It expresses who we are.
We source our designs from only the finest home furnishings manufacturers, many in the Far East and Central America. We distribute to top furniture retailers and other dealers in the United States and Canada. These valued partners share our dedication to the highest level of customer service and quality.
Even as our company has grown larger, the principles of a family-run business -- trust, honesty and respect -- continue to be our foundation. Our company was founded in 1931 by Ingwer Magnussen. A cabinetmaker by trade and a craftsman and businessman by heart, Ingwer took the bold initiative to start his own business in Kitchener, Ontario, when he was unable to find work during the 1930s depression. He beautifully and intricately carved show wood for sofa frames for upholstery manufacturers and his business grew into a good-sized company serving Canada. Richard Magnussen, Ingwer's son, joined the company in 1970 at the age of 20. Richard steered the company's focus on expansion and growth, enabling Magnussen Furniture to become Canada's largest supplier of occasional tables. In 1986, Richard founded Presidential Furniture, a division of Magnussen Furniture, to serve the U.S. market. In 1986, the company began trading as Magnussen-Presidential Furniture, which became one of the most progressive occasional furniture suppliers in North America. With an eye to detail and an understanding of the worth of exclusive designs, Richard built relationships with international manufacturers from around the world and tapped a huge growth opportunity. Magnussen-Presidential Furniture began importing from the Orient a decade before fashion trends and design styles in the furniture business made it in vogue to do so. In 2002, Magnussen-Presidential Furniture became Magnussen Home. The addition of "Home" reflects who we are and what we are offering as a company -- fine furniture, designed and created by a family of craftsmen from around the world, to fill the most important rooms in your home.
